Chartered Institute of Supply Chain Management (CISCM) | Mr. Sheikh Omar Jeng, a Gambian by birth, who is the Deputy Head of Stores for the Gambian Port has donated a laptop computer worth GHC 3,000 to Chartered Institute of Supply Chain Management (CISCM). He completed his course with CISCM in November 2018 and was inducted on 24th January 2019.
Mr Omar Jeng, is also a student of the Lancaster University. He has been schooling with the University’s campus in Ghana and has been an active member of the Institute.
He felt motivated to respond to the needs of the institution. This was after a call was made to the members of the institution to help with some needs of the secretariat. Mr Omar Jeng responded to the call by donating Lenovo Laptop.
The equipment was donated to the Training and Development Department of the secretariat.
Receiving the equipment on behalf of the institution, the Chief Executive Officer of Chartered Institute of Supply Chain Management, Mr. Lawrence Dodoo thanked Mr. Jeng for his kind gesture and called on all other members and stakeholders within the supply chain industry to come to the support of the institution.
Presenting the equipment to the institution’s secretariat, Mr. Jeng who was elated to be contributing to the development of the Professional Body through his donation said, “To whom much is given, much is expected”.
He stated that, he has been abreast with much supply chain knowledge throughout his course with CISCM.
Furthermore, he will be making positive transformation at his place of work upon his return to Gambia.
The donation of the Lenovo Laptop was made to the Chartered Institute of Supply Chain Management (CISCM) out of his generosity on Friday 5th April 2019.
The Chartered Institution Supply Chain Management is the only professional body that is spearheading the training and certification of supply chain professionals in Ghana.
In January this year, the institution inducted over two hundred (200) new members at their maiden Annual Investiture and Induction ceremony held at the Marriott Hotel, Accra.
